Job Summary

Emerge is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for working with clients to design and develop precision rubber molds for various molding processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design precision rubber molds and applicable tooling for elastomer parts and seals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Review and define customer drawings in collaboration with Project Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Manager of Engineering. Interface with customers regarding part and mold designs and support sales efforts.
  • Project Management: Facilitate timely engineering of molds and accessory tooling. Provide quotations on estimated tooling costs, mold designs, and layouts. Create purchase orders for molds and other tooling designs.
  • Quality and Compliance: Maintain extensive knowledge of and act in accordance with quality systems. Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD for rubber 3D and 2D mold design.
  • Process Improvement: Work with Process Technicians to maintain, review, and revise processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in APQP teams, Continuous Improvement teams, and promote quality standards of TS16949. Participate in new product development with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
  • Tooling and Manufacturing: Work closely with tooling and outside mold shops to ensure optimal mold design and build to achieve zero rework. Follow up on all projects to ensure continual improvement and progression of plans to defined schedules.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or working towards a B.S.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with rubber and project management. Experience in tool design and processing of HCR (High Consistency Rubber) and LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) materials.
  • Skills: Expertise in wasteless/flashless tool design and processing. Proficiency in SolidWorks. Experience with AutoCAD. Knowledge of GD&T.
