Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the transit system, including scheduling and supervision of drivers and dispatchers.
  • Monitor and evaluate transit operations, including on-time performance statistics, revenue/cost data, and customer complaint data.
  • Perform route audits to ensure drivers are using the most efficient routes for mileage and time.
  • Monitor safety practices and ensure standards are met and maintained.
  • Ensure all federal, state, and local requirements of the transit system are followed.
  • Coordinate with government agencies regarding transit and attend related meetings.
  • Coordinate risk audits with appropriate staff and agencies.
  • Coordinate with Community and Human Resources on drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
  • Coordinate all required training of Coweta Transit staff.
  • Receives and resolves rider and public complaints and issues.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of operating policies and procedures.
  • Assists with development and monitoring of operating and capital budget, grant revenues, expenditures, and program reserves.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in management, logistics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising and working in transit, a service-oriented or governmental organization with logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and standard operating procedures for 5311 and 5307 transit programs.
  • Ability to research and understand laws, regulations, and compliance requirements for applicability to program.
  • Working knowledge of QRyde software, including inputting data and running reports.
  • Ability to assess community needs related to transit.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, capital and operational budgeting.
  • Knowledge of grant administration.
  • Ability to operate logistics software and general office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and statistics and complete accurate reports.
