Role Summary:

The Family Support Aide will play a crucial role in assisting families and children in various welfare situations, ranging from temporary support to specialized care for children with unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and embody the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals in a progressive child welfare program.
  • Supervise and document family interactions and visits.
  • Assist in managing service referrals for children and families.
  • Accompany children and parents to necessary appointments.
  • Maintain organized filing systems.
  • Participate in case reviews and discussions.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; a college degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

  • A strong commitment to working with children and families.
  • Familiarity with the child welfare system in New York City is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational abilities.
  • Adaptability and capability to perform under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
