**Job Summary**
The City of Reno is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing fire suppression and rescue services, and engaging in fire prevention and education activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression and rescue services
- Engage in fire prevention and education activities to reduce the risk of fires and promote fire safety
- Participate in training and drills to maintain and improve firefighting skills and knowledge
- Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus
- Perform other duties as assigned by superiors
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of experience as a Firefighter or higher ranking fire operations personnel with a public fire agency, authority, or department
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Nevada Class B Driver's license with an F endorsement within six months of employment
- Valid Nevada Basic Emergency Medical Technician certification or National Registry Basic Emergency Medical Technician certification
- Current Nevada Firefighter I and II certifications or IFSAC Firefighter I and II certifications that meet NFPA standards
- Current CPR certification
- Current Haz Mat Operations certification that meets NFPA standards
- Current NWCG S-130 and S-190 certifications
