STAFF AUDITOR ROLE

Key Responsibilities
  • As a Staff Auditor, you will engage in a variety of accounting and tax tasks under the guidance of seasoned audit professionals. Your performance will be evaluated based on the quality of your work, application of accounting principles, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct reconciliations of client records to trial balances, which may involve analytical assessments, computations of prepaids, accruals, and depreciation expenses.
  • Participate in all phases of an engagement, including report generation and tax return preparation.
  • Familiarize yourself with the pronouncements from FASB, AICPA, and, for governmental engagements, GAO and GASB.
  • Achieve proficiency in preparing financial statements using the firm's designated software.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance client systems and operations throughout the engagement.
  • Engage in the planning process for each assignment.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure smooth engagement completion.
  • Understand and adhere to the AICPA's rules, regulations, and Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including in-house meetings and training sessions.
  • Utilize the firm's software to streamline processes related to trial balances, financial statements, and tax returns, potentially linking client software with our systems.
  • Perform additional accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting tasks as assigned.
  • Become acquainted with the firm's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Progress towards CPA exam completion is encouraged.
  • A minimum of 60 hours of continuing professional education is required annually.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and basic personal income tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in English.
