Job Overview

The Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, a State Corporation, is seeking a qualified individual for the position of General Manager (Supply Chain). This role is pivotal in guiding the organization on the interpretation and application of procurement laws while overseeing supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Formulate and develop comprehensive policies and strategies related to supply chain management, including risk assessment and contractor performance evaluation.
  2. Ensure adherence to procurement and asset disposal regulations throughout the organization.
  3. Review and develop annual procurement plans in compliance with legal requirements, while monitoring their execution.
  4. Provide expert procurement advice to the Managing Director regarding contracts for goods, services, and asset disposal.
  5. Implement and report on the Supply Chain Strategy in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  6. Oversee inventory and asset management in accordance with company guidelines and national regulations.
  7. Develop and maintain an ICT-based inventory management system that complies with legal standards.
  8. Prepare and submit statutory procurement reports as required by regulatory bodies.
  9. Monitor contract management to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, reporting any significant deviations to the Managing Director.
  10. Lead capacity-building initiatives within the organization to ensure compliance with procurement laws and internal policies.
  11. Foster a supply chain culture that promotes performance, professionalism, and initiative among staff.
  12. Maintain accurate procurement and asset disposal records in accordance with legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics, or related fields.
  • A minimum of twelve years of professional experience, with at least five years in a senior management role.
  • Professional qualifications in CPSP(K) or CIPS(UK).
  • Full membership in KISM with a current practicing license.
  • Completion of leadership courses lasting no less than two weeks.

  • Ability to effectively address stakeholder concerns with flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Strong analytical skills to accurately identify critical issues.
  • Proficiency in maintaining professional standards and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Demonstrated expertise in procurement practices.
