We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Adjunct Instructor to join our Personal Enrichment program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses, including culinary arts, dance, music, and recreation, as well as fine and studio art, photography, and more.

Job Summary:

As an Adjunct Instructor in our Personal Enrichment program, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of adult learners. You will work closely with our Program Manager to develop course descriptions and learning objectives, and provide instruction using a variety of methods and technologies. Your expertise will be valued in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters open-minded inquiry and mutual respect among students.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality lesson plans that engage students and meet their learning needs.
  • Work with the Program Manager to create course descriptions and learning objectives.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the various needs and levels of students.
  • Use technology and other resources to enhance instruction and create a dynamic learning environment.
  • Encourage active participation, critical thinking, and open-minded inquiry among students.
  • Promote cooperation and mutual respect among students.
  • Conduct classes in a manner that demonstrates respect for individual and cultural differences.
  • Complete orientation and training for adjunct faculty.
  • Submit required personnel forms and other documents in a timely manner.
  • Provide notice if unable to attend class or scheduled meetings.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Appropriate education level (varies based on course teaching).
    • Previous experience teaching.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Basic computer skills for using technology in the classroom.
    • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
    • Ability to build rapport with students.

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
