Cryptographic Research Engineer Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Cryptographic Research Engineer to become a part of our dynamic team at Sindri. The successful candidate will possess a robust foundation in applied cryptography along with hands-on experience in the development and execution of cryptographic protocols. A comprehensive understanding of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) and familiarity with ZK frameworks is essential. This role involves both the exploration of new research and the practical application of findings while collaborating within a compact development team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute cryptographic protocols
- Conduct thorough research and evaluate cryptographic tools
- Improve existing ZK Framework implementations
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends concerning zkEVMs, ZK proof protocols, and secure multiparty computation

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of programming experience in Python
- Previous experience in a production environment with a C-family language is preferred; a solid understanding of at least one C-family programming language (e.g., Rust, Go, C++) will be considered
- A Master's degree in cryptography or number theory (a bachelor's degree in mathematics is acceptable with relevant internship or research experience)
- Academic credentials (PhD in cryptography) or several years of experience in cryptographic research and development
- Proficiency in public key encryption, elliptic curves, and hashing algorithms
- Knowledge of pairing-based cryptography, SNARKS/STARKS, ZKP aggregation, and incrementally verifiable computation

Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of blockchain applications and methodologies
- Previous published contributions in the field of cryptography
- Familiarity with significant vulnerabilities or issues in recent proof systems
