Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support for our Linux-based systems and ensuring the security and compliance of our enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based applications and systems, including adaptation and implementation of software and hardware solutions to meet mission-specific needs.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system-level and networking issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Develop and maintain complex automation scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide administration and support for enterprise environments using tools such as Red Hat Satellite, Active Directory, and PDQ.
  • Assess, harden, and mitigate cyber vulnerabilities using tools like ACAS/Nessus, STIGs, and SRGs.
  • Lead cybersecurity compliance initiatives and provide advice on complex IT and cybersecurity issues.
  • Ensure system administration support activities align with program objectives and promote knowledge management and information sharing.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software in Windows and Linux environments.
  • In-depth understanding of networking concepts, hardware, and software, with ability to provide system administration to equipment segregated from the internet.
  • Understanding of enterprise environments and ability to provide administration through various tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of DoD, DoN, and NAVSEA IT system compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Security Clearance

A Secret-level security clearance is required for this position. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
