About This Role:

The Pathologists' Assistant (PA) plays a vital role in providing specialized knowledge, practice, and expertise in describing, dissecting, and submitting samples of human surgical specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary provider of anatomic pathology services, requiring specialized knowledge and expertise.
  • Provide support with quality and turn-around time metrics, workflow direction, and improvement.
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines and support inspectors during the inspection process.
  • Oversee supply and equipment maintenance, and update and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Train new Pathologist Assistants, residents, students, and fellows, and oversee PA competency.
  • Interact with and instruct residents with grossing, and continuously consult with the CLIA medical director, Anatomic Pathology leadership, faculty, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Graduate Level degree obtained from an accredited pathologists' assistant program or appropriate medical level training.
  • Frozen section, autopsy, and extensive grossing experience required.
  • PA(ASCP) certification preferred.
