Job Description

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Staff Oversight: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to provide leadership, staff oversight, training, and development to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care.
  • Operational Management: Assist with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating clinical and administrative activities to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Staff Management: Assist with staffing, scheduling, and flow of the clinic to ensure a safe environment and quality patient care.
  • Inventory and Purchasing: Assist with the oversight and management of all inventory and purchasing.
  • Employee Relations: Assist with the completion of annual evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary processes as assigned.
  • Communication: Attend meetings as required, conduct monthly staff meetings, and disseminate information from meetings with management to staff.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate the need for and effectively lead process improvement and process change projects.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Routinely review reports and audit results to ensure key performance indicators are met and hold team leads and staff accountable.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in an outpatient medical practice or with Oncology/Hematology knowledge. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, knowledge of clinic office procedures, medical practice, and medical terminology.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting: Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel to satellite clinics when necessary.
