Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Operations Supervisor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a key member of our maintenance and custodial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in building maintenance and grounds tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure it meets established standards.
  • Train new employees on proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Manage custodial supply needs by requisitioning necessary materials.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of state property and equipment.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds to assess repair, maintenance, and housekeeping needs, and assign tasks to staff accordingly.
Requirements
  • Two years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, multi-unit residential facilities, or utility plant operations.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade.
  • Experience in the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical fields.
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems.
  • Commercial maintenance experience.
  • Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, switch gears and 3-phase panels.
  • Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats and instantaneous water heaters.
  • Experience with Life Safety Code and Uniform Construction Code (UCC).
  • Experience reading and interpreting blue prints, technical or rough sketches.
  • Experience creating estimates, ordering materials, or laying out projects.
  • Supervisory experience in the trade's fields.
