Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to patients in our Senior Behavioral Health department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Assist patients with mobility and transfer, including ambulation and use of wheelchairs.
  • Provide nutritional support, including distributing meal trays and assisting with feeding.
  • Perform morning and evening care, including bed baths, oral hygiene, and dressing patients.
  • Empty drains, canisters, and other equipment, and record intake and output.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment, including reporting equipment malfunctions and handling linen and supplies.
  • Provide general care, including positioning, lifting, and turning patients, and assisting with the use of bedpans and urinals.
  • Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens as ordered.
  • Perform tasks such as ROM and assist with ambulatory devices as specified by the patient's plan of care.
  • Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures, as required.
  • Respond to patient call lights and requests in a timely manner.
  • Report significant changes in patient condition to the RN.
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly patient and work environment.
  • Employ infection control policies and procedures, including standard precautions and transmission-based isolation precautions.
  • Document patient records as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Tennessee CNA certification
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
