Job Summary

The Maintenance position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and assist personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule and perform machine repair and installation, including replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, running threaded piping, running weld piping, overhauling pumps, welding, and using a cutting torch.
  • Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed and diagnose and replace equipment parts with little or no direction.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times and be responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment.
  • Be familiar with and observe all Company safety rules and regulations and attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must know how to stick weld and must know how to use plasma cutters and acetylene torch.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in operating a forklift is preferred and basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations is also preferred.
  • Welding proficiency in Stick as well as vertical and overhead is preferred and general mechanical aptitude is also preferred.
  • Able to diagnose and repair problems with motors and other equipment and MN High Pressure class 1 Boiler License is preferred.
Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.
