ROLE SUMMARY
Integrative Health is a dynamic and expanding division within the Integrative Emergency Services ("IES") framework. IES is committed to establishing exemplary practices in emergency healthcare, delivering thorough acute care solutions, generating value, and assisting patients, staff, clients, providers, and physicians in achieving the highest standards of health services.
Integrative Health focuses on Primary Care and Transition of Care clinics and is currently in search of a Certified Medical Assistant for our Primary Care Clinic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and updating health records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Review patient medication histories.
- Set up examination rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, tests, and procedures as needed.
- Administer injections as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
- Ensure proper sterilization of medical equipment.
- Monitor clinical supply levels and manage inventory accordingly.
- Schedule patient appointments and handle incoming inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and enter data into medical records.
- Ensure all patient documentation is complete and accurately recorded in the EMR.
- Adhere to compliance standards set by Medicare, Medicaid, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, and other legal requirements.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as required by operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

- Self-motivated and organized.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Effective presentation skills and ability to engage with diverse groups.
- Familiarity with basic office software, medical management systems, and electronic medical records.
- Fluency in English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands for this position include:
- Ability to see at various distances and adjust focus as needed.
- Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks.
- Capability to perform standard office activities, including prolonged computer use and filing.
- Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 20-25 pounds.
- Fine motor skills for tasks such as typing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The characteristics of the work environment include:
- A typical medical office setting.
- Generally low noise levels.
