Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage consolidation and elimination entries for accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of all external financial documents, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of external audit firm visits and coordinate fieldwork with operational accounting teams.
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for all financial ledgers.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Document and assess compliance with SOX controls within the department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members in accordance with company policy.
  • Review financial statement filings to ensure proper disclosures.
  • Maintain Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • 6-8 years of professional experience in public accounting and industry, particularly with SEC registrants.
  • Strong knowledge of debit/credit accounting, including derivative financial instruments and contingent liabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with various levels of management.
  • High attention to detail with a proven ability to review financial statements accurately.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and SEC reporting; knowledge of IFRS and Mexico GAAP is a plus.
  • Experience with international subsidiaries is preferred.
  • Understanding of SOX regulations and related experience.
  • Proficient in preparing annual proxy statement filings and knowledgeable about EDGAR and XBRL reporting requirements.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of working independently.
