Job Title: Safety and Occupational Health Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety and Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at Jobot. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Job Summary:

The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure safety procedures and protocols are adhered to, and that the working environment is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This includes developing, implementing, and managing safety programs and protocols, conducting regular safety audits and inspections, and providing safety training and education to employees.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and education programs to employees.
  • Respond to and investigate safety incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and submit reports to relevant authorities as required.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to promote a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Stay updated on new laws and regulations regarding safety and occupational health.
  • Recommend changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness.
  • Perform risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Participate in the development of company policies and programs that promote a safe workplace.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety and occupational health role.
  • Certified in OSHA, HAZWOPER, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) or equivalent preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Diligent with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
