Job Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Gateway Systems Architect at MbSolutions Inc. This role is pivotal in the development of habitation systems and hardware for the Gateway vehicle and the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) module.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct, assess, and present architectural trade studies and analyses that will shape the overall design and functionality.
  • Decompose requirements and formulate specifications for Level 3 (Habitation and Logistics module).
  • Create verification and validation plans along with associated statements.
  • Develop interface control documents to ensure seamless integration.
  • Review and provide feedback on program documentation to enhance clarity and effectiveness.
  • Support assessments on crew equipment, including stowage solutions and inventory management systems.
  • Engage with Gateway Program management and chief engineers through presentations.
  • Collaborate with other Gateway system management teams, including power, environmental control, life support, and crew health.
  • Coordinate with other programs such as Orion and the Human Lander System.
  • Work within a team framework, reporting to the team lead on progress and challenges.
  • May assist with various Advanced Exploration System (AES) Logistics Reduction projects, including innovative clothing technologies and autonomous inventory management.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

This position is open at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience and business requirements, we may consider applicants at any level.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing space systems requirements documents, including functional requirements and verification criteria.
  • Familiarity with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space systems, particularly in habitation.
  • Basic understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware sector, including mechanical and electrical system design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective presentations.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and evaluate project needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with organizational processes and procedures within the space industry.
  • Experience with spacecraft habitation systems.
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with Systems Engineering methodologies and techniques.
