We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Hospital. This dynamic role involves assessing potential patients for admission, receiving calls and walk-ins with compassion and empathy, and ensuring each person receives an appropriate assessment or referral.
About UsIntermountain Hospital is a 151-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency facility located in Boise, Idaho. With a rich history dating back to 1980, we have been providing quality care to the Treasure Valley and western US region. Our mission is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate mental health and substance use treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess potential patients for admission
- Receive ADMISSIONS calls and unplanned individual/family walk-ins with compassion and empathy
- Ensure each person receives an appropriate assessment or referral
- Document calls and other ADMISSIONS-related paperwork accurately
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate required, bachelor's degree in social services field preferred
- Prior intake, assessment, admission, and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population preferred
