Water Treatment Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the County of Dare, NC. As a key member of our water treatment team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our water treatment plant, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean drinking water to our community.

• Perform daily inspections of the plant to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Conduct regular tours of the plant and equipment, assisting with maintenance, operation, and repair as needed.
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels, recording readings from meters and instruments.
• Prepare and maintain records on plant operations, including water quality and treatment processes.
• Collect and verify water samples, assisting with laboratory analyses as needed.
• Regulate and adjust motors, pumps, blowers, valves, and other apparatus to meet changing operating conditions.
• Perform general building and grounds maintenance duties, including receiving and unloading chemical deliveries.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years of experience in a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
