Water Treatment Plant Operator

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the County of Dare, NC. As a key member of our water treatment team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our water treatment plant, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean drinking water to our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of the plant to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure optimal plant performance.
• Prepare and maintain records of plant operations, including water quality data and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator to ensure the plant is operating within regulatory requirements.
• Perform general building and grounds maintenance duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three years of experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions.
