Sleep Laboratory Coordinator

Job Summary

The Polysomnography Technologist 2 coordinates the daily operations of the Sleep Laboratory, ensuring the monitoring and assessment of quality, policies, procedures, staff, and equipment performance. Key responsibilities include communicating with patients, physicians, and family members regarding sleep disorders and treatments. The successful candidate will perform polysomnographic studies in a clinical setting, including oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure titrations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Performs polysomnographic studies, scores studies, and formulates reports for physician interpretation.
* Documents all pertinent patient events according to department policy.
* Communicates instructions, results, and relative information to patients, physicians, and family members.
* Maintains standards for completeness of Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Control measurements.
* Orients and trains new Sleep Lab employees.
* Establishes and implements performance improvements including education and staff development.

Requirements:
* Advanced expertise of Polysomnographic Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
* Ability to read, write, and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
* Ability to work under stressful conditions and prioritize multiple demands.
* Ability to maintain and troubleshoot audio and video equipment.
