ResponsibilitiesProvide care to patients in the field of Acute Emergency and General Surgery, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of medical art and science and ethical standards of conduct.
Deliver care in the appropriate setting, coordinating with staff present at each site.
Take the lead in all patient care issues and be ultimately responsible for the outcome of the encounter.
Provide acute emergency and general surgery services and critical care services at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Participate in Trauma Services coverage with the Trauma Surgery Group as per the employment agreement at CAMC General Hospital.
Participate in General Surgery on-call rotations within the Department of Surgery as per the employment agreement.
Provide post-operative care for patients upon which you have performed surgery.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust be able to relate appropriately with patients, staff, corporate management, medical staff, and co-workers.
Managed care knowledge is helpful.
Must be a team player.
Must remain current in medical/surgical knowledge as well as applicable legal and regulatory issues.
EducationMD or DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program.
CredentialsBoard certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery with board certification or board eligibility in trauma/surgical critical care preferred.
