Job Summary

The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is seeking a skilled Cytologist to join our Anatomic Pathology team. As a Cytologist, you will be responsible for performing microscopic examinations of cytologic specimens, including gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) samples. Your expertise will be crucial in rendering preliminary and final cytologic impressions, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our diagnostic results.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform microscopic examinations of cytologic specimens, including gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and FNA samples
* Render preliminary and final cytologic impressions, ensuring accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results
* Ensure lab compliance with accrediting agencies' regulations and guidelines for quality control
* Provide cytotechnology orientation to other professional personnel and pathology residents as requested

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited cytotechnology program
* Registered or eligible for registration by the American Society of Clinical Pathology
* Demonstrated proficiency in communication, working well with others, and experience working in a health center
