Position Overview:

As a Delivery Truck Driver for Performance Foodservice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to our customers. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections and report any safety issues or repairs required.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required and load customer returns onto the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
Requirements:
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL A
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
