Job Summary:
Pyramid Healthcare Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Assessment Counselor to join our team. As an Assessment Counselor, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical team by providing assistance with level of care assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Introduce and explain the Level of Care Assessment (LOCA) process to clients.
- Collect demographic and historical information relevant to the LOCA.
- Explain and facilitate signatures for Releases of Information (ROI) and other admission paperwork.
- Facilitate admission process by communicating with Licensed Counselor when client is ready for clinical portion of the LOCA.
- Gather information for and complete precertification for all managed care clients when applicable.
- Required to find placement in appropriate setting for the client.
- Collaboration with therapists and marketing team.
- Case consulting with clinical team.
- Collaborates with admissions to keep schedule up to date.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree from an accredited college with a major in a generally recognized clinical discipline in which the degree program includes a clinical practicum.
- Licensed in a generally recognized clinical discipline that includes mental health clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong clinical skills in mental health/substance abuse/eating disorder treatment.
- A working knowledge of HIPAA, Licensing, and CARF regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information, working well in an individual/group problem solving situation, and showing initiative in problem solving.
- Maintains professionalism and does not show favoritism.
- Maintains consistency with clients, staff, visitors, and the public.
- Sound clinical judgment and excellent clinical skills.
- Ability to handle a crisis situation and react appropriately.
