Operations Shift Supervisor

Corning is a leading technology company that invents life-changing products using materials science. We are seeking a skilled Operations Shift Supervisor to join our team in Glassmaking.
The successful candidate will serve as the key point of contact for shift operations on a 24x7 schedule, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. They will provide supervision and facilitation to a team of operators responsible for the manufacture and measurement of glass preforms and optical fiber.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and facilitation to a team of operators
- Serve as a champion for safety and lead the team to world-class performance
- Understand and apply established guidelines, procedures, and policies
- Provide daily feedback on individual and team performance
- Prepare and provide reports to supervisory chain
- Coordinate daily activities of team and support organizations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred) with 2+ years of Manufacturing experience
- OR Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program that can translate to future manufacturing roles (Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, etc.) + 4 or more years in a Manufacturing leadership role
Preferred Skills:
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating shift schedule
- Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Data Analysis skills (experience with tools like Pivot Tables, Microsoft Access, Minitab/JMP, etc.)
