Key Responsibilities- Effective Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with diverse individuals and groups, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
- Prioritization and Organization: Skillfully manage multiple, shifting priorities while delivering outstanding customer service under demanding conditions.
- Data Collection: Gather comprehensive and precise demographic, insurance, and financial information to facilitate the registration process.
- Database Management: Update and maintain the patient database in accordance with established protocols.
- Transaction Management: Complete and reconcile all daily transaction documentation.
- Team Communication: Foster open communication with all team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, appearance, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; some college education is advantageous.
- A minimum of two years of direct customer service experience is essential.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from an accredited American Heart Association (AHA) course is required.
- Experience in providing service to patients and their families is preferred.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with patient records, charts, and insurance plans is beneficial.
Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service when interacting with patients, staff, physicians, and colleagues.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Adept at functioning in a fast-paced, professional setting.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, interpreting various forms of instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
