Position Overview

The Dublin, GA VA Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated and board-eligible or board-certified Psychiatrist to deliver essential health services to an outpatient veteran demographic.

Work Environment

This role encompasses responsibilities at both the Dublin, GA VA Medical Center and the Albany, GA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary health service delivery to veterans in outpatient or residential rehabilitation settings.
  • Conduct individual and family therapy sessions.
  • Deliver tele-mental health services as required.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments addressing physical, psychiatric, emotional, and social needs of patients with various diagnoses, including but not limited to psychosis, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and organic mental illness.
  • Engage in treatment planning, medication management, and other specialized services as necessary.
  • Facilitate coordination with other healthcare programs to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Adhere to operational policies and procedures set forth by VA leadership.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and comply with performance measures.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
  • A degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in differential diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions.
  • Familiarity with veterans diagnosed with PTSD is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position can reach up to $240,000.00 per year. The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, life insurance, health benefits, and participation in the Federal Employees Retirement System.
