Position Overview: The Field Property Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating and managing property claims within the designated area. This role requires residence in the specified territory. Your responsibilities will include assessing liability, gathering information, reviewing coverage details, and resolving claims effectively. You will collaborate with the Claims Division to ensure top-tier customer service and work alongside the agency to provide a seamless claims experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the origin and cause of claims by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimants, agents, and legal representatives.
  • Identify and address complex issues, seeking assistance when necessary, and handle claims with integrity.
  • Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations when required, assess damages, and negotiate claims with all involved parties.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and close files as appropriate.
  • Interpret and apply policy documents, leases, and contracts to all parties involved in assigned claims.
  • Provide updates on the claims process and status to all stakeholders, addressing questions or redirecting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
  • Experience managing first-party and third-party claims across multiple lines.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex claims effectively.
  • Strong understanding of casualty coverage policies and endorsements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the claims handling process.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

Travel Expectations:

  • Up to 50% travel may be required.
  • Catastrophe duty may require up to 75% travel as applicable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate ladders, stairs, and other elevated surfaces.
  • Capable of moving in various positions to complete tasks in diverse environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor elements.
  • Ability to work in noisy and potentially hazardous environments.
  • Experience with Xactimate estimate writing is required.
