Cabinet Finisher II Job Description

Job Summary:


As a Cabinet Finisher II at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, you will be responsible for preparing and applying finishes to aircraft furniture using aircraft specifications, designs, and engineering drawings with a high level of safety, quality, detail, and productivity.


Key Responsibilities:



  2. Prepare Furniture for Finish: Work under general supervision to prepare furniture for finish and disassembly using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings.

  3. Perform High-Quality Repairs: Perform high-quality repairs to various finished surfaces in the shop and aboard aircraft. Clean and polish blemishes as needed to prepare the aircraft for delivery.

  4. Apply Finishes: Apply finish to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.

  5. Comply with Safety Policies: Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interior (PTP).

  6. Use Material Tracking System: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and to sign-off work.

Additional Responsibilities:



  2. Develop Process Improvements: Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.

Requirements:



  2. Working Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.

  3. Communication Skills: The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  4. Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

  5. Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate.
