Cabinet Finisher Senior Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Cabinet Finisher Senior to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing, applying, and touching up finish on aircraft furniture, ensuring high-quality results and meeting design and engineering requirements.


Key Responsibilities:



  2. Finish Preparation and Application: Perform complex high-quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft, applying finish using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.

  3. Quality Control and Assurance: Interpret material specifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail, coordinating with the Design group to ensure compliance with customer-approved design samples.

  4. Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping practices, ensuring the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP).

  5. Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train lesser-skilled technicians, developing their skills and knowledge to ensure the team's success.

  6. Process Improvement: Work to develop and implement process improvements that address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools.

  7. Material Tracking and Coordination: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.

  8. Lead Responsibilities: Accept lead responsibilities when needed, overseeing projects and coordinating with the lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.

Requirements:



  2. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years of experience in wood finishing processes, advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products, and experience in the aerospace industry preferred.

  3. Skills and Abilities: Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection, process specifications, and terminology, ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
