Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate excavator equipment to install underground utilities, prioritizing safety and effectiveness.
  • Perform thorough check-ups and safety sweeps of equipment, notifying supervisors of any concerns.
  • Set up and operate different trench shoring systems, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
  • Determine the best approach for each project, handling sewer systems, storm drains, water mains, and force mains.
  • Follow the lead of your Foreman and Superintendent, using assigned equipment to tackle tasks efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Machine Operator in the utility construction and gravity sewer industry.
  • Able to operate an excavator/track hoe.
  • Proficiency in pipe installation techniques, including bedding and backfilling.
  • Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and underground utility installation procedures.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and at different job sites as required.
  • Able to travel within the state of Florida when needed (lodging and per diem provided).
