Position Overview
This position is centered around delivering pharmacy-related services within a hospital or retail environment. The role encompasses a variety of Pharmacy Services responsibilities, including the delivery of pharmaceuticals and support for daily operations in a hands-on capacity. This senior-level position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of operational protocols and tools, acquired through substantial professional experience, and may require specialized vocational training.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of a pharmacist, you will engage in pharmacy-related tasks in accordance with departmental policies to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals.
- Conducting inventory management and compliance audits.
- Facilitating financial transactions and providing exemplary customer service.
- Maintaining accurate pharmacy records and assisting with the procurement and inspection of medications and supplies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Massachusetts.
- At least one year of experience in a pharmacy-related role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree.
- Two years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
Essential Duties
The following responsibilities are indicative of the role but not exhaustive:
- Participate in advanced financial and audit activities.
- Conduct benefit investigations for complex medications.
- Perform audits related to narcotic usage and inventory control.
- Resolve medication-related inquiries and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to address medication-related issues.
Physical and Skill Requirements
The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medications are essential.
