EHS Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Technician II to join our team at Proterra. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the sustainability of our operations.

• Develop and implement EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provide support to department managers and employees on EHS issues, and assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
• Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, including inspections, audits, and training.
• Plan and deliver safety messages and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the EHS team.

• You have a strong understanding of EHS regulations and standards, and are able to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
• You are able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and have basic data analysis skills.
• You have a strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and are able to prioritize tasks effectively.

• You have a high school diploma, and preferably an associate degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• You have 0-2 years of experience in EHS, and have a basic understanding of EHS regulations and standards.
• You have basic first aid and CPR certifications, and are able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based in Greer, and requires occasional travel (0-10%).
