Job Title: Heavy Duty Bus and Coach Mechanic

MCI is North America's public and private market motor coach leader. As a Heavy Duty Bus and Coach Mechanic, you will be integral to maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including minor and major overhauls.
  • Perform drive line component maintenance, including transmissions, drive shafts, and differentials.
  • Repair and maintain essential engine and body accessories, including heating and air conditioning systems, alternators, generators, voltage regulators, and suspension components.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of braking systems to maintain the safety and effectiveness of our fleet.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components, ensuring all systems function correctly and efficiently.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of seating, steering components, and glass, ensuring comfort and functionality for passengers.
  • Work on electric buses, including maintaining and inspecting high-voltage systems, battery packs, and electric drivetrains.

Requirements:

  • Technical expertise in diesel engines, driveline components, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic devices, A/C recovery and charging equipment, and shop tools.
  • Certification in electric vehicles or advanced diagnostics is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in fabrication and machining is a plus, including skills in welding, machining, or fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and effective use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
