Seeking a Dedicated Endocrine Care Provider

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a world-renowned institution dedicated to advancing pediatric care. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Endocrine team at Main Hospital.

About the Role

The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at CHOP is one of the largest pediatric endocrinology and diabetes centers in the nation. Our team of experts works with patients in the Philadelphia region and from around the world. As a member of our Inpatient Endocrine team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with attending physicians, and contributing to the development of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients, utilizing relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability and formulate a plan of care.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, adhering to the Scope of Practice Document and approved as part of the credentialing/privileging process.
  • Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care within the context of complex acute, critical, and chronic illness.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings.
  • Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, nursing staff, and provider teams, acting as a consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education, and participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) or Registered Nurse (New Jersey) licensure required upon hire.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) licensure required upon hire.
  • Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) or Prescriptive Authority (New Jersey) required within 3 months.
  • Specialty certification in area of education/subspecialty required upon hire.
