Warehouse Operations Excellence

Univar Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler Lead to oversee the efficient operation of our warehouse and delivery service. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for directing the activities involved in the prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide services for the efficient receiving, marking, and stocking of merchandise; ensure the maintenance and protection of warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from warehouse.
  • Direct the Company's fire and safety programs for all warehouse employees according to established policy and practice.
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of warehouse personnel; ensure orientation and training in the proper methods for performing warehouse duties.
  • Inspect and check warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Recommends new methods and procedures in warehouse activities.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work under Company policies where experience and independent judgment are needed.
  • Should be familiar with the office paper flow, operations of each department, particular products and their handling problems, and knowledge of all departments within the warehouse.
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements as it pertains to FDARP as applicable to the facility.
  • Must be able to work with and motivate others.
  • Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment.
  • Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training.
  • High School Diploma, or GED with additional schooling or equivalent business experience.
  • Should have 3 to 5 years of experience with the Company.
  • Ability to read, write, count and understand and speak English.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

  • Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment.
  • Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 lb. net bags for short distances.
  • Ability to read, write, count, understand, and speak English.
  • Physical ability to tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly as well as stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Test negative on the company's drug tests.
