UCHealth is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Setup: Prepare the operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment and instruments are in good working order and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
- Instrument Management: Continuously account for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery, and pass them to the physician as needed.
- Specimen Processing: Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely handling.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment, and take initiative to address any issues that may arise.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or military training.
- Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
- Experience: 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program.
- CPR Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a valid card in hand before start date.
