Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at National DCP, LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation operations of our distribution centers, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of freight to our member stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Operations Management: Direct and coordinate the activities of assigned teams of route drivers to ensure maximum performance relative to product delivery, cost-efficient equipment utilization, service, safety, and good customer relations.
  • Team Development and Coaching: Create a team-oriented environment by developing and coaching drivers on safety, driving, and customer service skills.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor driver performance weekly through PeopleNet, counsel drivers on performance issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise assigned lead drivers, work with Dunkin' Stores and Distribution Center as a liaison in problem-solving delivery issues, and administer progressive discipline when required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all company policies, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
  • Operational Support: Assist the Operations Scheduler with drivers' weekly schedules, vacations, and time-off requests, orientate and develop new drivers, and assist in compiling, monitoring, managing, and implementing the driver performance metrics and incentive program if applicable.
  • Fleet Management: Manage fleet utilization, track the status of vehicle/equipment, monitor equipment on the Out-of-Service report, and work with Penske/Ryder as needed.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with DOT hours of service, react timely and effectively to breakdowns and accidents, and oversee Hub Locations with possible overnight travel to assess routes and drivers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with the Safety Manager on proper safe driving techniques, proper lifting, and training in all required DOT regulations, and accept and assist with special projects as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience managing high-volume delivery routes, preferably in the food delivery industry, and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a transportation-related role within the quick-service restaurant industry.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Rules and Regulations, knowledge of related OSHA standards and regulations, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and SAP experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform work at a desk or sit/stand workstation for extended periods, ability to operate a computer keyboard and view a computer screen for extended periods, ability to interact with employees and/or customers in Distribution Center or customer locations, ability to travel to customer locations, other Distribution Centers, Corporate Office, etc., as needed, and ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
