Job Summary

The Warehouse/Truck Driver position at SLCS Gulf Coast, Inc is a vital role that requires a combination of driving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to our customers, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately pull orders for delivery in a timely and safe manner.
  • Properly and efficiently unload cargo/trucks and check with Supervisor upon completion for next delivery instruction/information.
  • Complete Pre/Post Vehicle Inspections on a daily basis.
  • Maintain truck logs according to company policy and Federal/State regulations.
  • Fuel, wash, and maintain vehicles as needed/required per Company policy.
  • Maintain contact with the Warehouse Manager as needed/required.
  • Safely and accurately operate warehouse equipment at all times to load, unload, or disperse cargo and/or materials.
  • Physically inspect items for damage as needed and/or requested by the customer.
  • Inspect shipments/equipment as needed.
  • Contact Supervisor in the event a customer wants to make changes to a delivery.
  • Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
  • Plan routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Requirements:
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Competencies: Discretion, Decision Making, Time Management, Thoroughness, Customer/Client Focus.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day.
