Job Overview
As a Federal Student Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing support to faculty and staff in preparing PreK-6th grade reading activities. You will also have the opportunity to tutor local students in reading instruction, creating and developing lesson materials, and attending mandatory training sessions.
About the Job
This is an ideal position for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about education and making a difference in their community. As a Federal Student Assistant, you will work closely with colleagues to create engaging learning experiences for students. Your responsibilities may include assisting faculty and staff with lesson preparation, tutoring students one-on-one or in small groups, and supporting the development of educational materials.
Requirements
- You must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least six (3) hours per fall or spring semester.
- If not a first-time student, you must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
- Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA.
- You must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
- May not be a Dual Enrollment Student.
Salary Information
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $8.25 per hour, with the possibility of working up to 20 hours per week. Your schedule will vary based on your class schedule, so flexibility is key to this role.
