Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Assembler to join our team at Powell Industries. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for installing electrical devices, conduit, and wiring systems in accordance with industry standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical devices, including disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, and VFDs, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid) to meet project requirements.
  • Install wireway and cable tray systems to ensure proper electrical connectivity.
  • Pull wire and large cable to complete electrical connections.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires to meet industry standards.
  • Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions and adhering to NEC Manual guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned to support the team's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools, as well as basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid) and experience installing cable tray and wire way.
  • Ability to crimp and terminate wires and read drawings (wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings).
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components, as well as relevant NEC Code sections and Powell Standards and Best Practices.
  • Ability to meet or exceed established Senior Electrical Assembler productivity run rates and perform tasks with minimal direction or supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mentoring skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Time and project management skills, as well as ability to generate a material take off.
