About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Technician to join our Customer Engineering team at Air Products. This residence-based role requires 50-75% travel throughout the midwestern region of the United States.

The ideal candidate will be located in areas such as Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Detroit, and western Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping in liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide service.
  • Demonstrate extremely high standards of safety performance while performing activities at customer sites and while driving a company-provided vehicle.
  • Supervise crane contractors and serve as Lift Supervisor for equipment lifts/sets via cranes with load capacities up to 250 Tons.
  • Demonstrate quality brazing techniques and experience with installing and pressure testing piping.
  • Ensure safe handling of hand tools and hand power tools typically and commonly used in installation and maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Must be proficient with all hand tools.
  • Ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Pass a service/pickup truck road test and have a clean driving record.
  • Computer skills are needed to perform projects and other day-to-day duties.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrate the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience with supervising crane contractors and serving as Lift Supervisor for equipment lifts/sets via cranes with load capacities up to 250 Tons.
  • Demonstrate quality brazing techniques and experience with installing and pressure testing piping.
