We are seeking an experienced licensed or licensed eligible Veterinary Technician to join our rapidly growing Dermatology Service at Guardian Veterinary Specialists.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to experience specialty medicine in a low-stress environment and consistent schedule. As a part of a growing service, you would be an integral part of the continued development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and summarize patient history for appointments prior to the visit
  • Assist with physical examination and collection of samples
  • Review patient discharges with clients
  • Review test results with clients over the phone
  • Prepare, stain, and interpret cytology samples
  • Assist with advanced dermatologic procedures such as skin biopsies, intradermal allergy testing, video otoscopy, and CO2 laser surgery
  • Sedation and anesthesia of patients when necessary
  • Prepare specific allergen therapy serum for patients
  • Other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Positive attitude
  • Team player
  • Comfortable with client interaction and communication
  • Interest in dermatology
  • Desire to continually learn and grow
  • Experience in general practice and ability to perform anesthesia are desired, but not required
  • Must have reliable transportation
