Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a critical care specialist, you will provide evidence-based clinical care to critically ill patients, evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and implement respiratory care plans for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
  • Perform basic and advanced therapeutic procedures, including arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, and pulmonary functions
  • Communicate and recommend changes in the respiratory care plan with other healthcare team members
  • Provide effective education to patients, students, and coworkers
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide organizational performance improvement activities
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in respiratory care technology
  • RRT certification or must be obtained within one year of hire
  • BCLS certification by the AHA
  • Active licensure by the state licensing board
  • Minimally competent per department orientation process standards to work in CCU/PCU, CVSU, PICU, PACU, and ER critical care areas
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ACLS clinical experience in Respiratory Care
