Cleveland Clinic's Strongsville Family Health & Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).

The ASC offers advanced outpatient surgery that allows patients to return home soon after their procedure without the need for overnight stays.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 3:30pm and must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Salary for this position is estimated at $65,000 - $90,000 per year, based on national averages and may vary depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
  • Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery of care, and process patients through the ASC.
  • Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
  • Assume charge responsibilities, resolve problems, and report variances.
  • Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
  • Maintain nursing competencies and participate in preparing staff development programs.
  • Identify self-learning needs, establish goals, and evaluate attainment of goals.
  • Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Demonstrate a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three years as a Surgical Technician.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), if caring for a pediatric population.
