Job Summary:

The Perinatal Technician for Labor and Delivery provides high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). This role requires flexibility to adapt to changing department needs, prioritizing customer service, safety, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform designated direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
  • Flex between surgical scrub technician and unit secretary/receptionist roles as needed.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to maximize customer service and safety.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of accredited Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technician program required.
  • One year experience as a surgical technician preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical asepsis and infection control required.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and obstetrical and gynecological surgical instrumentation required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required.
  • Operating Room Technician certification preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within six months of hire.
