The Aerial Crew Supervisor is responsible for managing and guiding the aerial crew team.
- Ensures adherence to company safety protocols and regulations.
- Acts as the primary leader for aerial crew personnel.
- Supports the Supervisor in daily operational tasks.
- Interprets and executes design schematics and related instructions relevant to the project.
- Keeps accurate records for timely submission of production documentation.
- Performs various aerial crew responsibilities, including pole and anchor installation, as well as aerial cable maintenance.
- Operates company vehicles in compliance with safety and traffic laws.
- Conducts basic maintenance on company vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- The Supervisor is accountable for safety at the job site, overseeing all personnel from the company and nearby contractors.
- Ensures compliance with the company's Safety and Loss Control Program at the job site.
- Identifies and mitigates unsafe conditions or behaviors at the job site.
- Ensures availability and functionality of necessary safety equipment at each job site.
- Guarantees that all team members are trained in safe operational procedures.
- Conducts regular safety inspections at the job site.
- Assists in investigating any incidents that occur.
- Facilitates and documents daily safety meetings with the crew.
- Prioritizes the safety of all employees under their supervision.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
- A CDL Class A driver's license is preferred.
- Understanding of both basic and advanced construction principles is essential.
- Familiarity with customer specifications is required.
- Proficient in all aspects of underground construction.
- Ability to operate necessary equipment, such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, and backhoes.
- Knowledge of safety systems related to aerial construction, including setup and emergency protocols.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in the utility construction sector.
- Capability to read blueprints and interpret utility maps to identify types and sizes of underground utilities.
- This role requires the ability to stand, crouch, sit, bend, and use hands and fingers for handling tasks, as well as reaching to both high and low areas.
- Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, glasses, and hard hats.
- Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, or other airborne substances may occur.
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying weights of up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed, with or without assistance.
