Job Summary

Partners In Diversity, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering and Geotechnical Services to oversee technical staff and consultants performing geotechnical engineering design services related to large-scale transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start-up to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Geotechnical Engineering: Apply geotechnical engineering techniques in foundations design, soil mechanics, seismic excitation, and fault rapture to ensure the stability and safety of transportation infrastructure.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, mentor, and motivate assigned staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Investigations and Recommendations: Oversee geotechnical investigations and provide recommendations based on transit rail industry standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing environmental, engineering, equipment, construction standards, and rail transit operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience: Five years of relevant management-level experience as an engineer, architect, or project manager on major transit or public works projects with at least two years of experience in a specialized area of assignment.
  • Registration: State of California registration as a Geotechnical Engineer (GE) required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Geotechnical Engineering Experience: Experience applying geotechnical engineering techniques in foundations design, soil mechanics, seismic excitation, and fault rapture.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience managing geotechnical engineering foundation design and construction of transportation-related facilities, such as bridges, underground structures, tunnels, retaining walls, grade stations, and maintenance facilities.
